What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?
Going into my freshman year of college, my major was undeclared. I was leaning towards a finance degree, but once I found out about the Financial Planning profession and major, my mind was made up. I loved (and still do!) the idea of getting to use my strength in math and numbers and adding a “human touch”—working with individuals, families, etc.—to the traditional corporate finance job.
Why did you choose to be part of the BDF team?
BDF impressed me because I felt not only did they truly care about their clients, but they really care about their people too. BDF was referenced numerous times throughout my interviews as a “teaching hospital,” which in my mind translated to “we care about building up our employees and giving them the leverage and knowledge base to be their best selves.” And in turn, we can provide our best service to our clients.
What does “Helping people make sound decisions to enjoy a full life” mean to you?
To me, it is all about providing my clients with peace of mind. I love being able to stand beside a client and assure them they are making sound financial decisions, or being able to help clients find a solution in areas where maybe they are not making the greatest decisions! Our decision making and advice is unique to each client – every client envisions their “full life” differently, and we want that vision to drive everything we do.
Where can we find you when you’re not working?
The beach is my happy place, and I love to travel. But more commonly you can find me spending time with family and friends.
What defines your own personal “full life”?
In terms of my personal “full life,” it is all about having a work-life balance. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. But it is very important to me to be able to look back at my life one day and see that I did more than just work.
