Matt Foltz CPA, CFP®

What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?

No two financial situations are the same, so working through all options for each client to help them make the best financial decisions possible for them and their loved ones is extremely rewarding. Also, the client interaction is what wealth management and financial planning is all about.  When you have the opportunity to meet the individuals you are serving and speak with them about their lives, it puts a different meaning behind the work you are doing on a daily basis.

What skills or characteristics make you uniquely qualified for this work?

Having worked in tax for over 3 years, it changes the way I view and think about many financial situations. Also, playing baseball in college taught me the importance of working together with a team to achieve success.

Who are your role models?

My parents, without a doubt. They are two of the most selfless, hard-working people I know and taught me the importance of a solid work ethic, respect, and most of all, family.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

Watching sports and spending time with friends and family. I love all sports, especially baseball, and had no choice but to grow up a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read and why?

Go Giver. Focus on giving in your life and the results will be rewarding.  This applies directly to wealth management and financial planning, as we are constantly looking for ways to provide value to our clients.
