What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?
I love to both learn and teach. Within wealth management I constantly fulfill my desire to learn something new every day, while also sharing that knowledge with our clients. The pairing of research, teaching, and building relationships are the perfect mix for me.
What’s the most influential book you’ve read and why?
Too Big to Fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin. This is a comprehensive retelling of the events that unfolded during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. Understanding how this crisis formed within the system not only piqued my interest in the financial world, but has been helpful to understand the many aftershocks that rippled throughout the entire economy.
What is the one thing you wish every person knew when making financial decisions?
The long term goal is the most important. In today’s world with news constantly bombarding us, it can be hard to filter out the noise and stay focused on what is most important to you and your family. Making decisions with an eye towards the long term goal allows for the most thoughtful and best decisions to be made.
Where can we find you when you’re not working?
I love to be active and constantly in motion. I find various ways to fulfill that goal, whether I am running with my wife, tinkering around the house with home improvement projects, or spending time with family and friends. I do enjoy occasionally laying on the couch, but you won’t find me there for long!
